(Italy) Event presentation of the study “Labour Market and Foreign Workers in Puglia”

Fondazione SMILE Puglia organized a public event marking the official presentation of the study “Labour Market and Foreign Workers in Puglia”.

The 1-day event aimed to disseminate the findings of the study to regional stakeholders and promote dialogue on how to transform labour market analysis into concrete pathways for the labour integration of third-country nationals (TCNs).

The event brought together over 50 participants, including:

• Representatives of SGI Europe and ETUC (EU-level social partners)
• Local and national trade union confederations (CGIL, CISL, UIL)
• Employer organisations (Confartigianato, Coldiretti, Confindustria, Legacoop)
• Regional institutions and services (training centres, municipalities)
• Civil society organisations (ARCI, CAPS, Don Bosco, ActionAid)
• Migrant associations and community representatives
• Media and the general public

The event successfully mobilised a wide range of stakeholders and reinforced commitment to using the study findings to guide upcoming vocational training and job placement actions in Puglia. It also demonstrated the potential for replicability in other EU regions, aligning with LABOUR-INT III’s objectives of fostering structured, sustainable integration models.
